Pascal Kaporoma
About me
Welcome. I am Pascal Kaporoma, a poet who writes under the name “The Blind Seer.” My journey began in Chiredzi, Zimbabwe, where I was born on November 14, 2000. Raised by my uncle and aunties while my mother worked abroad, I learned to see the world through a lens of absence and longing a perspective that would later become the bedrock of my poetry.
The Alchemy of Words: Forging Resilience from Loss
Though I study quantity surveying, my true vocation is poetry. What began as a simple school assignment evolved into my most vital form of therapy, a sacred space to process the emotional landscape of a challenging childhood. I write to translate the unspeakable, the silent struggles and complex family dynamics into a language of shared feeling.
My work is often inspired by the raw humanity around me. One of my most poignant pieces was born from witnessing an elderly neighbor’s profound grief after losing her husband and son. Though the poem remains private, the act of writing it was an act of shared mourning, a testament to poetry’s power to connect us to the deepest wells of human experience.
Influenced by the narratives of everyday life, music, and film, I seek to uncover the hidden stories pulsing beneath the surface. Without formal training, I lean into a raw, intuitive perspective, giving my work an edge of unfiltered truth. My central themes orbit the vast universe of emotional and psychological experience, with the singular goal of touching the hearts and minds of my readers
A Voice Honed on Stage: My Achievements in Oratory
My passion for the spoken word extends beyond the page into the competitive arena of public speaking. I am profoundly proud to have been crowned the Overall Best Public Speaker at the Zimbabwe Debate Championship (ZiDC) in June 2025. Shortly after, I further solidified my standing by emerging as the Fourth Best Public Speaker at the ZimOpen Debate in July 2025.
This commanding voice also found a platform on the stage of Dreamstar, where my talent earned me a selection in the Manicaland province and a journey to the Quarter Finals. These experiences have honed my ability to command attention and deliver emotion with clarity and power, skills that directly enrich my poetic performances.
A Vision Forged in Verse
I am guided by the words of Shakespeare: “The evil that men do lives after them.” This compels me to seek the light that persists in darkness. As The Blind Seer, my mission is to illuminate these spaces, fostering empathy and inspiring transformation through the power of verse.
My ambition extends beyond the page. I dream of sharing my poetry on grand stages, using art as a catalyst for positive change and a beacon for social awareness. I believe in poetry’s unique power to build community, bridge divides, and remind us of our shared humanity. This is more than writing it is my commitment to using my voice to make a difference, starting in Zimbabwe and echoing across the world.
