About me
Hello, my name is Ta Sasa, but on stage, I go by “The Poet Love.” I was born on August 30, 1998, in Harare, Zimbabwe. Growing up, I was part of a small family with my mother and two siblings. My father passed away early in my life, and as the eldest, I took on the role of supporting my family.
From Playground Verses to Heartfelt Poetry
My journey into poetry began in primary school, but I only started taking it seriously later, thanks to the encouragement of those around me. Despite having no formal training, my poetry has flowen naturally, inspired by the experiences and emotions of love.
Love is the core of my creativity. Whether it’s the joy of romance or the pain of heartbreak, I channel these feelings into my poems. Every relationship I’ve had has left an imprint on my work, allowing me to explore the depths and nuances of love through my verses.
Currently, I support my family by selling shoes on the street, and poetry is my side job. Financial constraints have limited my ability to share my work widely, but I’ve started posting on social media and dream of reaching a broader audience through platforms like YouTube.
Weaving Words with Emotion: The Beauty and Complexity of Love in My Poems
In Zimbabwe, art has the power to inspire and uplift. It offers an escape from the harsh realities many youths face such as drug abuse. Through my poetry, I aim to provide hope and a positive outlet for expression.
One of my most cherished pieces is titled “Mom, I Found You,” inspired by the biblical story of Ruth. This poem reflects my deep respect for unwavering loyalty and love, themes central to my life and work.
Zimbabwe’s rich culture and natural beauty profoundly influence my poetry. The sights and sounds of our landscapes, from the majestic Victoria Falls to the vibrant wildlife, provide a backdrop for my words, enriching the imagery and emotion in my poems.
Through my art, I strive to convey the beauty and complexity of love, hoping to touch hearts and inspire change in my community.
Thank you for learning about my journey. I look forward to sharing more of my stories and art with you.
